Gerd Rijper secured victory in Race 1 of the ETCC Seventies Revival during the Zandvoort Summer Trophy at Circuit Zandvoort on 11 July 2026. Driving a Porsche RSR, Rijper completed the 13-lap race in 25:52.784 to finish 9.620 seconds ahead of fellow Porsche RSR driver Lex Proper, while Jari Konola completed the overall podium in a Plymouth Barracuda GT.
The opening race of the ETCC Seventies Revival featured 38 starters on the 4.259-kilometre Zandvoort Grand Prix circuit as part of the Zandvoort Summer Trophy weekend. Rijper established a consistent pace throughout the race and maintained his advantage over the chasing field to take the overall victory after 13 laps. His winning average speed was 128.36 km/h, with his fastest lap recorded at 1:57.904 on lap five.
Lex Proper crossed the finish line in second place, 9.620 seconds behind the winner, while Jari Konola recovered to third overall. Although Konola finished 30.423 seconds behind Rijper, he recorded the fastest lap of the race with a 1:57.801 on lap four in his Plymouth Barracuda GT. Geert Boels finished fourth in a Ford Escort RS 2000 MK1, narrowly ahead of Jan-Willem Oosterhagen, who completed the top five in another Ford Escort RS 2000 MK1.
A total of 34 competitors were classified from the 38 starters, while seven drivers failed to finish and three did not start. Following the race, officials issued 10-second time penalties to Lex Proper, Jan Sleurink and Bart Walraven for overtaking under yellow flag conditions. The final classification also noted weak transponder signals for cars 70, 10 and 30, requiring attention before the next race.
