An Introduction from the Headteacher

As Headteacher I am proud to welcome you to Thomas Alleyne’s High School. Thomas Alleyne’s was founded over 450 years ago and although its name, designation and location have changed several times, its excellent standing within the community has not.

Here at Thomas Alleyne’s we are committed to achieving the highest standards in everything we do. We value ourselves as a dynamic, innovative community where all learners, students and staff are supported to the best they can be. Our key aim is to give every young person the chance to progress and succeed both at school and beyond.

Success here is assured because of our commitment to three principles which underpin all our work:

• High expectations leading to higher standards
• Promoting positive values and personal development
• Creating new opportunities and embracing change

We are not complacent and are continually working with parents and students to find ways of improving.

Parents are welcome to look around the school at any time, but please telephone to make an appointment in advance of your visit.  If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely

Susan O’Farrell
Head Teacher

Welcome to Thomas Alleyne's High School

“Thomas Alleyne’s is a good school with some outstanding features”

Ofsted Report June 2008

Thomas Alleyne’s High School is a coeducational comprehensive Community School for students aged 13-18. It is a large school – our current role as at the September 2008 is 1350 students, of whom 365 are in the Sixth Form. Most students choose to stay on into the Sixth Form at the age of sixteen. The school occupies a site between the centre of the market town of Uttoxeter and the open fields of the Dove Valley.  The school buildings are in a rich variety of styles and periods, including a Georgian house.  Grassy areas, courtyards and recreational areas link the buildings.
